It's that time of the year again! Basketball season with Special Olympics Missouri! Our St. Louis Metro Area Basketball Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, January 26 in the Warren County R-3 School District and Warrenton communities at the following venues: Daniel Boone Elementary School, Blackhawk Middle School,
Rebecca Boone Elementary School, Warrior Ridge Elementary School, Warrenton High School and Holy Rosary Parish. The games will start at 8:00 a.m., with
most gyms finishing competition by 6:00 p.m.
Last year, this tournament hosted roughly 90 St. Louis Metro teams and 7 Southeast teams in the following divisions: Regulation, Unified, Modified, 3-on-3, Team Skills and Individual Skills Basketball. We are expecting this year to be just as exciting. Come out and cheer on your talented local athletes.
Special Olympics Missouri is still in need of volunteers to serve as Awards Assistants, Score & Timekeepers and Referees; previous basketball experience is not needed to volunteer! Any interested volunteers can signup online at http://www.penncomm/volunteermgt/showevents.php?clientD=1006. Questions can be directed to Aimee Loyet, Associate Area Director, at 314-961-7755.
Thank you to our St. Louis Metro Area Partners Shop ‘n Save, AEP River Operations and 92.3 WIL for their support of this event.
