Police said the Pagedale man also slashed his girlfriend's tires in December.
A man faces a criminal charge for exposing another person to HIV infection.
Vinita Park Police said Robert A. Bartlett, 42, of the 1500 block of Purdue in Pagedale, was charged by St. Louis County prosecutors Jan. 17 with recklessly exposing another person to HIV.
Police said Bartlett had a sexual relationship with his girlfriend between Jan. 17, 2010 and Dec. 12 and did not tell her that he is HIV positive, putting her at risk of contracting the virus.
Police said Bartlett was aware that he is HIV positive.
Bartlett also was charged with second-degree property damage. Police said he slashed two tires on his girlfriend’s car in Vinita Park Dec. 10.
Bartlett is being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
