Should 'Creve Coeur Days' and 'Olivette On The Go' Merge?
Apparently, Olivette's mayor was approached with the idea. It's too late for this year, but would you support the idea?
Olivette Mayor Arthur Merdinian was apparently approached by organizers of the annual Creve Coeur Days festival about merging with Olivette On The Go, the city's September festival held last year at Stacy Park.
That's according to a note in the agenda packet for Tuesday night's Olivette City Council meeting:
"Mayor Merdinian...reported that 'Creve Coeur Days' has approached Olivette regarding the idea of holding a 'joint festival' between the two communities; however, he does not anticipate this happening this year, due to the fact that the dates have already been set for Olivette On The Go, a contract has already been agreed upon with the carnival service, and entertainers have already been lined up for the event."
In fact, Creve Coeur Days President Steve Tockman told Patch the idea was first presented in November to the organization's board. Tockman said it was taken under advisement and would be a topic for discussion at the board's meeting Tuesday night.
But, as Merdinian noted, it's too late to do anything for 2013. Creve Coeur Days spokesman Ed Farber said it could be a possibility in the future in the event organizers didn't have a location available to hold it.
Creve Coeur Days ran from June 14-17 last year. This year it's scheduled for June 13-16. This year's Olivette On The Go will be Sept. 27-29.

It stands to reason that the merger of these events would create some cost efficiencies as well as bolster the total attendance. So... why not?

Who would get top billing?

Whichever township hosts it gets top billing (for whatever that is worth anyway).
