Subway Is Latest Food Shop Moving into Town

The new location of the sandwich shop moves into the former location of the Land of Smile Thai restaurant.

Olivette city officials have signed off on inspections, issued building permits and generally paved the way for the opening of a new Subway sandwich shop to open at 9641 Olive Blvd., the former location of a Thai restaurant in the city.

Land of Smile is making way for the Subway, which city officials say is owned by the same franchisee as a Subway located on Page Avenue in Overland.

"We've done all the inspections and we've been talking to the franchise owner," said George Kieffer, building inspector and plan reviewer for Olivette. "The intent is to open soon."
