"Government Shutdown" Sandwich at Sugarfire Smoke House

The Olivette eatery is reportedly offering the sandwich for free to furloughed federal employees.

According to the Riverfront Times, Sugarfire Smoke House owner Michael Johnson began offering the "Government Shutdown Sandwich" last week on the first day of federal furloughs.

The sandwich reportedly includes brisket, pork, turkey, lettuce, pickle and mayo.

This week a Sugarfire employee tells Patch the sandwich is $7 for most customers, but is free for employees impacted by the federal government shutdown.

Sugarfire is located along Olive Boulevard, just west of Interstate 170.
