High Hopes and Verizon High Tech for Baseball Spring Training

Baseball spring training brings with it the excitement of seeing teams come together and young players vie for positions. And while cutting edge wireless technology can’t help Minor League players score the coveted spots, it can make a world of difference in spectators’ ability to engage in the action.

Across the Grapefruit League in Florida and the Cactus League in Arizona, fans share high hopes and an upgraded wireless experience. With the latest 4G LTE smartphones andtablets – and dozens of new Verizon Wireless cell sites around ballparks – fans can snap and send photos and videos; stream highlights, news and stats about their favorite teams and players; play in online games or fantasy leagues; and download full-length HD classic baseball movies.

A full range of tech accessories take the sport of spectatorship to the next level. Fans can look cool and listen to the game broadcast in the stands with a headset from Beats or a wide lineup of other audio headgear.

The Samsung Galaxy Camera, for example, captures 18-megapixel photos with a 21-x optical-zoom lens for close-ups – even from the bleachers. Its 4G LTE connectivity allows for quick uploading of those post-worthy spring training shots.

These fan-friendly spring training tech tools are just the beginning – kind of like baseball’s spring training.
