Ladue Grad To Be Featured With Other "Hunks" On Cable TV Wednesday

St. Louis' College Hunks Hauling Junk franchise will be on an episode of TLC's Hoarding: Buried Alive.

A group of local college students, including a Ladue Horton Watkins High School graduate will be getting a brief moment in the cable TV spotlight Wednesday.

The St. Louis franchise for College Hunks Hauling Junk and College Hunks Moving, based in Creve Coeur, was recruited to participate in the filming of the TLC program Hoarding: Buried Alive.

Kim Bussard, a co-owner of the business, told Patch the TLC program has a history of working with other 'College Hunks' franchises in other cities. Her team, which includes Ladue graduate Desmond Moore, was called in to assist with twin sisters in Percy, IL, who were told to clean up their home or face having it condemned.

The episode was shot in November and filming finished last month.

“It was a tough job. It took seven of our guys working all day to tackle this massive clean-out. Plus, we generally donate about 70% of everything we haul and give it to charity, but basically nothing we removed from this house was donatable,” Kim Bussard said in a statement. “Regardless, we’re just glad we were able to help. A lot of people don’t realize this, but hoarding is a serious matter. Situations involving hoarder clients requires a great deal of sensitivity, which is why we actually train our team members to be very conscientious and respectful of what the clients are dealing with in their lives."

The Bussards opened the business at Corporate Square last year and employ many students at Missouri Baptist University. The team will gather at O’B Clark’s Restaurant and Bar in Brentwood to watch the episode, which starts at 8 p.m.
