Olivette News, Current Events, in Verse

We've taken to posting nearly daily haiku about the city on our Facebook page. This will catch you up.

The art of haiku is more nuanced that your Faithful Patch Editor is capable of. But we commenced entertaining ourselves (and you, hopefully) on the Olivette Facebook page in November with a nearly daily haiku about some element of the city's news and current events.

For those who don't remember, haiku is an ancient Japanese form of poetry that, crudely stated, includes three lines with five, seven and five syllables each.

We've taken a hiatus for the holidays, but plan to be back at it on our Facebook page (like us if you haven't already!) after the new year.

But to catch you up, here are the haiku we've run so far. I hope you like the references. And please, try your hand at some in the comments below!
