Cops: 'Suspicious Person' In Olivette Offers Yardwork, Then Steals

See this warning from Olivette police.

Olivette police posted an alert on the city's website on Monday, alerting residents to a search for a "suspicious person" who poses as a person offering to do yardwork, then steals property from unsuspecting homeowners.

"On Monday, the Olivette Police Department received a complaint of a suspicious person in the area of Villa Park. The individual was a white male in his 30s.

"He is approximately 5-foot-and-8-inches tall, 175 to 200 pounds with no front upper teeth. He was wearing dark pants, a black Mizzou jacket and identified himself as 'Robert Belton.'

"He drove an older model vehicle white in color.  This suspicious person was knocking on doors offering yard work services.  Once in the residence he steals valuables."
