A summary of the categories of crimes reported in the city each month. The latest report goes through November 2012.

The city of Olivette's police department posts a monthly update on the categories of crime reported to the department each month.

As usual, larceny — theft of personal property — leads the list of crimes broken out separately in the monthly monthly report, which also tracks assaults, burglaries, drug offenses and robberies.

The department reported eight cases of property theft in November, half of the October total. There were five reported assaults in November; only July and October had more with seven each.

The "other" category is always the largest. A handful of other offenses are lumped into that category, including crimes such as motor vehicle theft, arson, bad checks, fraud, property damage, sex offenses, DWI and kidnapping, according to the report updated each month by the city's police department.

In total, so far, the city has reported 669 serious crimes since the first of the year through the month of November.
