News Nearby: Man Charged in Knifepoint Robbery Near the Loop

Another man was charged in December for the Oct. 25 robbery in U City.

A second man has been charged in a robbery in a parking lot off the Loop on Oct. 25. 

University City Police said that Jermaine Pate and Timothy Valley robbed a man and took his car.

Pate, 23, of the 5500 block of Etzel in St. Louis, was charged Feb. 14 with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Valley was charged with the robbery Dec. 7.

University City Police said Pate approached a man in the parking lot near 605 Leland at 12:11 a.m. Oct 25 and asked for jumper cables. The man responded that he had no jumper cables, and Pate asked to borrow a cell phone, police said.

Valley then came up and put a knife to the man’s neck, and Pate took out a handgun. The man gave them the keys to his 1996 Toyota Camry and his cell phone, according to court documents.

Pate and Valley then drove off in the car, police said.

Pate and Valley are being held in St. Louis County jail. Bond has been set at $75,000 each, cash only.
