Olivette Cops Planning to Start Sobriety Checkpoints in March

This announcement was released on Thursday by the Olivette Police Department.

The Olivette Police Department may conduct sobriety checkpoints at various locations within Olivette during the months of March thru September. The checkpoints are aimed at reducing the number of intoxicated driver related crashes, which occur on our roadways. 

The checkpoint will involve briefly stopping traffic for the purpose of checking for impaired motorists. Intoxicated drivers will be arrested. Others will be allowed to proceed after a short delay.

"While citizens may be delayed for a short period of time, these checkpoints have been proven highly successful in getting intoxicated drivers off the streets. Should you come upon one of these checkpoints, your cooperation and patience will be appreciated," said Olivette Police Chief Rick Knox.
