Police: Thieves Steal Handgun, Break Car Windows

Police responded to a string of thefts from vehicles and property damage in the same block of Olive Boulevard.

Police responded to a string of thefts from vehicles parked in an Olivette shopping area in which suspects made off with a handgun and DVD player among other items.

On Nov. 9, Olivette police responded to five incidents in the 9500 block of Olive Boulevard.

According to police, an unknown suspect stole a DVD player and handgun from an unlocked vehicle parked on a business lot in the area of Olive Boulevard. Miscellaneous items were stolen from another unlocked vehicle while it was also parked on a business lot in the area.

Suspects broke the window of a truck and stole a jacket. Two more vehicles had windows broken in an attempt to gain access but nothing was stolen, according to a list of incidents from the Olivette Police Department. Police do not state whether they believe the incidents were connected.
