Register Now For The Citizen Police Academy

The program is a cooperative effort between police in Creve Coeur, Frontenac, Olivette, Town and Country and Des Peres.

The following information was provided by the Creve Coeur Police Crime Prevention Office: 

The Citizen Police Academy is an educational citizen-involved activity designed by the Creve Coeur, Des Peres, Frontenac, Olivette and Town and Country police departments. The goal of this academy is to promote understanding between the residents and its police officers regarding their respective needs and problems.

By promoting this relationship, it is hoped that citizens and police can work together to make the entire community a safer place to live.

The Citizen Police Academy is a unique opportunity to educate the public about the criminal justice system and provide insight into everyday police work. 

Several areas of police training will be covered during this nine-week academy including:

  • Constitutional and Criminal Law 
  • Investigations 
  • Role play 
  • Traffic safety 
  • Use of force 

Community involvement is the key to a successful academy program. Citizen Academy graduates will not become police officers; however, they will have a greater understanding of law enforcement and a community partnership will be established. 

The 13th class of the Creve Coeur, Des Peres, Frontenac, Olivette, and Town & Country Citizen Police Academy is scheduled to begin on March 5, 2013. Please note that a background check of all applicants will be completed to ensure the safety and confidentiality of law enforcement specific material. All applicants must be over 18.
