Filing Closed For City Council in Olivette

Former mayors Missy Waldman and Ruth Springer have filed for the two open seats.

Former mayors Missy Waldman and Ruth Springer are the two candidates who filed for seats on the Olivette City Council. The election will be Tuesday, April 2.

Even though there are two candidates for two positions, Olivette will hold an election to allow for write-in votes. The state legislature has considered eliiminating elections in these circumstances to save money, but it has not yet moved on it.

Filing for office opened Dec. 11 and closed Jan. 2, allowing the Olivette city clerk to verify signatures from each candidate. Olivette candidates are required to gather signatures of 25 residents to run for the council.
