5K, Fun/Walk at "Olivette on the Go: Sunday, September 30

Prize money of $150 goes to the first-place finisher in the 5K race through Olivette.

One of the most popular events at the annual “Olivette on the Go Festival” are both the 5K run and the family fun walk. Organized by resident Doug Cohen, this event will be hosted on Sunday, September 30 starting at the intersection of Lindley and Mansfield Drive in Oak Estates subdivision.

The 5K race gets underway, starting promptly at 8 a.m. The participants enjoy a run through beautiful tree-lined streets and the fun run is a great event for families to just jump in and walk with their children.

A grand prize of $150 is being offered to the first-place finisher in the 5K race. Last year, it was a battle to the finish line.

The short walk/run starts at 9:30 a.m. from the same location. Registration forms are available on the event’s website.

“Olivette on the Go” is a community-wide festival in Stacy Park September 28-30. This year, there will be new carnival rides, geared to both children and adults.

The Midway features all kinds of games and there will be plenty of refreshments. Parking will be on the park grounds this year.

Entertainment includes Friday night with DJ MC Reggie, Stone in Love on Sunday, a Journey tribute band and the featured performer popular local vocalist Erin Bode on Saturday. All concerts are at 7 p.m. and free to the public. Lawn chairs are suggested. No coolers will be allowed.
